Coat Drive Update

Coats ready for selection at Distribution Event

If you have been following our newsletter stories, you’ll recall that we have undertaken to assist those in need of a warm coat for winter by seeking coat donations, cleaning the donated coats and providing logistical support by transferring the coats to and from our facility.

In addition to the support we provided to the two organizations, Hendricks County Coats for the Community and Monroe County Coats for the Community, we have also taken part in several coat drive distribution events recently.

-- In Bloomington, the first event was held in late October at “The Warehouse” an event center and was co-sponsored by the networking group NTI and Kiwanis.

-- In Plainfield, the next event was held at Mercy Base Church, and was co-sponsored with NTI and Kiwanis of Plainfield

-- In Northwest Indianapolis, another event was held at St. Monica Catholic Church on North Michigan Road and was co-sponsored with Ascension St. Vincent

-- In Crawfordsville, our final event was held on November 14th at Crosspoint Fellowship and also sponsored by Crosspoint Fellowship. In each case the sponsoring organizations not only hosted these events, but also contributed coats to the events. They did this both through donation drives, and in some cases through outright purchases of coats.

We are so pleased and grateful that we have had the opportunity to give back to the communities we serve with dry cleaning pick up and delivery through our Gold Star Delivery Service. In each of these areas that we are serving, we were able to provide a combined total of over 600 coats to those in need.
